Position : IP Access Network Design Engineer (fixedline)- New Zealand
Position Description :  
In this role you will be responsible for designing IP and Access solutions to meet the customer’s defined business requirements.  This will involve integration, troubleshooting and working closely in a team of technical experts as well interfacing with internal business units, external vendors and the customer to ensure comprehensive and robust solutions are delivered.

In order to be considered for this position, you must possess the following:
 
  • Solid Engineering background specifically in the design space
  • Experience in integration and troubleshooting
  • Must be familiar with the following standards and technologies:  OSPF, BGP, RIP, STP Variants, MPLS, VPLS, DHCP, PPPoX including PPTP, HSRP/VRRP, IPv6, SIP, RADIUS, IPSec, MPLS/ BGP VPN’s, QoS/Cos, VoIP, WiFi/Wimax and AAA.
  • Experience in Juniper E series routers (as BRAS & Tunnel Terminator) and M/T series routers (as P and PE MPLS/BGP VPN routers) & Cisco CPE/Enterprise series switches and routers – including configuring, operating and troubleshooting for these equipments and their EMSes.
  • It would be advantageous to possess the following:  Perl, TCL or shell scripting on Unix or Linux, familiar with network and security tools (MRTG, Nessus, nmap etc), ability to design, operate and administer application servers (HTTP, VoIP / SIP, DNS, mySQL etc), relevant industry certifications
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills are essential and strong interpersonal skills will be advantageous
  • Demonstrated ability to manage difficult and stressful situations in complex environments.
  • Experience with IMS an advantage!

Position : Senior VOIP Network Engineer - New Zealand (ON HOLD)
Position Description :  

Summary of Role

Client are installing a Carrier Class VOIP Network. The Client NOC will have the role of operating this network, with the high availability, reliability, quality and service that IS required for there customers. This is the first real VOIP Network in our area, and it will be a full End to End solution, including IP PABX connectivity, Session Border Controllers, Media Gateways, Soft switches and ACME Border Controller. The network will interconnect with the exisiting PSTN , IN , Bearer and IP Core, which the Client NOC already operate.  

Areas that we will need to focus on, as a part of the VOIP Operational Model, are customer service, billing, testing, fault management, network surveillance, security, quality of service, signaling, interconnection, impact assessment and change management.

Required Skills of Candidates

We require candidates who have skills in the following:

  • VOIP, including softswitch, TGW, AGW, SBC. - Required
  • Unix/Linux and Windows Servers - Desirable
  • Windows XP – Required
  • SNMP - Required
  • Routers and Switches - Desirable
  • PSTN, IN and SS7- Required
  • H323 and SIP - Required
  • Experience with Telco fault investigations, analyzing data - Required
  • CDR analysis for the purpose of fault investigating - Desirable
  • Experience working with Vendor, providing Level 1 and 2 Support – Required

Position : Voice Network Design Engineer PSTN/NGN/VOIP/IN - New Zealand (filled)
Position Description :  

Purpose of role

The purpose of the role is to design network solutions to meet the customers defined business requirements focusing on the provision of engineering design for the integration, implementation and support for Voice over IP and Intelligent Network platforms and services.  

This will involve proof of concept testing and developing technical design specifications for the introduction of new network capabilities and oversight of implementation projects associated with the new network capabilities.

Qualifications

As a Network Design Engineer, you will possess the following:

  • Solid Telecommunications Engineering background
  • Proven experience designing comprehensive and robust network solutions
  • Detailed knowledge of PSTN networks, NGN, Messaging, Intelligent Network, IMS and associated platforms
  • Detailed knowledge of SS7, VoIP, SIP, and other telecommunications protocols.
  • Hands on equipment and Lab experience.

Position Description:  

 

Due to rapid growth, the Engineering, Technology, Strategy and Architecture Team are seeking the expertise of an experienced Access and Transport Design Engineer to join their Wellington based team.
 
In this role you will be responsible for designing Access and Transport solutions to meet the customer’s defined business requirements.  This will involve integration, troubleshooting and working closely in a team of technical experts as well interfacing with internal business units, external vendors and the customer to ensure comprehensive and robust solutions are delivered.
In order to be considered for this position, you must possess the following:
 
  • Solid Engineering background specifically in the design space

Technical knowledge
